Besides friends and showing me my birthplace, one of daddy's reasons for coming to Italy was for wine. I do not know if I believe him or not but he said that most of the wine was for me as it was the 2005 year when I was born. He says that Barolo wine can last many years so I can drink it with him when I am older. Whatever....for now I just like smelling it, but daddy was impressed when the first one I smelled I said smelled like cherries. However, I was more interested in meeting the people, playing with their animals or in their yards, and eating their food.
The first winery was Elio Grasso, the only winery on this trip that Daddy never went to. Elio's wife, Marina, took us on a cool tour where they had all these barrels in what looked like a cave. Then daddy did the tasting while I played on the grass right outside. It was beautiful place. I thought it was pretty disgusting that daddy spit out most of the wine, but he told me it was not because it tasted bad, but because he was driving.

The next stop that was very close was Giovanne Manzone. He talked to daddy for a while, while I played with his dog. He signed a big bottle for me.
We then had panini and hot chocolate before meeting Alessandro and going to Damilano winery and then Giuseppe Rinaldi, one of daddy's favorite. He did not have many of his 2005 left, but gave 2 for me. We then went back to the little hotel/winery where we were to spend the night. I played with Kurt while Daddy and Alessandro did some wine tasting. Daddy even got an old bottle of Barolo from the year he was born a long, long time ago. I didn't even know they made wine back then.
Since it was a Monday and not many people where around, it was difficult to find a place for dinner, but Alessandro called and found a place that was "in the middle of no where". It was really good food. We then were dropped off at our guesthouse by Alessandro (and Kurt) and said our goodbyes. We had so much fun with them, but as it is a small world, I am sure
