Hello! Its been a couple of days but I haven't been avoiding you for no reason! This past week, my group went to Sarapiqui which is a city in the northern more Caribean side of the province Heredia. The trip was about two or two and half hours and we ended up at Selva Verde (Green Forest) Lodge. But wait, before we got there we went on this tour of a pineapple farm which grows really well in that area because of the climate. I would never have thought it was would be very interesting to be honest but it was actually really cool and so beautiful! These people contorl the growth of the oineapple with this speacial gas but its all natural and organic. UM and it is the best pineapple i have ever tasted!! So sweet and we got to try it alot and have pina colodas and pineapple cake at the end of the tour! so fun. So next we went to Selva Verde which is literally in the middle of this rainforest reserve with all kinds of trails leadin through the forest. Our rooms were surprisingly really sweet, like these bungalows things on stilts in the middle of no where! Hah and yes we did get awoken by howler monkeys every night but I was kept looking for the speakers hiding somewhere that would show me where all the fake rainforest sounds came from but I couldn't find them! Was it real? OH and it rained every day but only for like 5 minutes at a time and always when we were sleeping. On friday, we got to volunteer with this conservation program which promotes eco-tourism and reforestation so we planted a bunch of trees out in the boonies! Maybe in ten years i'll be visting Elaine Savell ( shout out to my girl woo woo!!) and i'll take a trip up to Sarapiqui and seen the forest. That night we had a special dance class and learned marenge, salsa, and creole swing. Good thing Ivelina let us go out to the one local bar that night so we could practice our new moves, and scare a bunch of locals in the process. Saturday we went on a guided tour of through the rainforest but it was raining the whole time so we didn't seen anythign super cool ( besides all the posion dart frogs, huge iguanas,

our bungalows! i say that and not cabin because they were really nice
toucans, monkeys, and about a thousand different types of birds were all hanging out around the lodge, no big deal) oh and i don't have a rainjacket so that may be why i'm feeling kinda sick right now... that or I got it from Lauren Kinnard!! dang it. Oh well my group is super fun, a bunch of Gringos just like me who made a pack that starting monday (today) we would only speak spanish! Which i have been breaking all afternoon inorder to blog... but this is important! Sunday , my birthday!!, i turned twenty and we went on a turn of a chocolate farm and got to mkae chocolate the way the Mayans used to. Mmm it was pretty good but really dark and probably too healthy for me because I mostly like milk chocolate and white chocolate (which i learned isn;t even chocolate) so cool! But everyone was really sweet and i had a cake and presents ( a pack of pencil lead from Brandon, a list of embarrassing birthday to-dos from my ticamigas, a super super super cute orange t-shirt with a parrot on it, endless compliments all day from Callie, and from my tico family a pillow pal which was on my bed when i got home and had little note, so cute!) A group of us went to Fridays ( no t.g.i.) and got some very American food and watched the superbowl. Fun day! Today we had our first day of classes! But i only had one, which was my spanish class with my group so it wasn't bad. Oh and even though i'm taking four classes and tutoring, i only have classes monday through wednesdays! Hello long weekends!! well its raining now so doesn't that mean I should take a nap? Oh i love it here, Pura vida!

Nice
It's almost as if you were telling yourself: "Here, see this!" Almost begging yourself to really experience it: the moment; the foriegn object in your hand; the clouds; everything around you. I like. Thomp A Romp
