Arrived safely in Fort Lauderdale around noon on Saturday 15th January with warm weather and calm seas - wonderful.
Went on trip in afternoon to the Everglades which was great and exciting going over the water and vegetation so fast in places. Saw lots of different birds and a number of alligators. Then went on to Flamingo Gardens which was really lovely seeing more wildlife and different plants. Great fun going round taking loads of photographs.
Back to the ship and after taking on board a replacement turbo part we set sail for Barbados. A two day journey.
Arrived in Bridgetown, Barbados on Tuesday 18th January. A little rain first thing as we arrived in the town but it cleared quickly and the sun came out. Enjoyed to town, very busy with tourists and being pestered to take taxi rides!!
Shops are air conditioned which we needed. Hard to believe there are so many jewellery shops in such a small town. A major business thanks to tourists.
Cathedral interesting - very small but full of commemorative plaques. Parliament buildings closed on Tuesday’s so couldn’t go inside. Some nice Marlin fishing boats around.
We set sail in the evening for 4 days at sea, bound for Salvador.
A bit windy but clear blue skies and lovely and hot.

All sounds very good though I don't think I'd fancy seeing alligators! Eagerly await the next blog.
