This is my last entry for a little while. I'm going to go off to Guangzhou. While I'm there I want to see Zhaoqing, Shenzhen and possibly Macau or Hong Kong. We'll see once I get there though. I more than likely will write my entries down and type them up when I come back but if I have to write while I'm there I will do that.

Camillo thinks that I'm going to be in trouble. He thinks Guangzhou is very seriously not safe and that I am going to be in trouble the way I want to go. He thinks that if I want to be safe at all there I should go stay in a nice hotel and not a hostel or a cheap hotel. Now what I keep telling him doesn't seem to really matter to him right now - I've gone all over the world. I've stayed in dumps and dives in many different places during my travels. I've been to places that aren't exactly safe. I know how to take care of myself. I know who to trust, and that's me. Granted I've never been to this particular city and as such sure I need to be careful but I'm not really worried that I won't be able to take care of myself. I think the main reasons Camillo seems to be freaking out a little bit are based on one key thing. He's worried about me (as any traditional Chinese man would be). In China as in India one doesn't travel by oneself. It's not fun. It's not safe. It's stupid. There are many different reasons they don't do it. Now in these countries one especially doesn't travel alone as a woman. Camillo also knows that I'm white and as such people want my money. The thing is if worse comes to worse I don't really care about money, I care about me. But things will be fine so not to worry.

I'm looking forward to my travels. Last night I got to hang out with Kelvin, Cat, Craig and a couple Australians and one person from England and another from Ireland. They were all really awesome. We just mainly hung out and talked for a long while. Today I had to say bye to Cat, Kelvin, Russell, Shina and my cat. The people are all going to Beijing (along with Julia and Wayne). My cat went to stay with Sunny while everyone's gone. So that just leaves me, Craig and the Salon boys. Craig is staying here to chill. The Salon boys are staying here to work their asses off cutting hair for all the people who are on holidays. And I'm leaving tomorrow morning. Wish me luck! Maybe I'll be 23 (American years) when I write all of my blogs up (as I'm returning to Dalian on May 8th).

Guangzhou is safe
Hey, i'm just a random reader of your blog. I visited Guangzhou last year, it's safe as anywhere else. It is however a big, dirty, nasty industrial city with little to offer a tourist - so is Shenzhen for that matter. If you want to check out some cool bars, go to the Holiday Inn, there is a strip of bars behind the building.
