Visited the Royal palace grounds today and two buddist temples. Words can't describe. Will post the pics in a week or two. Never seen so much gold leaf.

Hi Mike, You seem to be having a great time and some great pictures of some great views, sunsets, coloured bridges and of course food vendors. Nice to see that you made it back to where you lived all those years ago in Hong Kong and your school and nice that it has not changed too much since you were there. Hotel pool looked nice as well and the view from it looked fab, you see these sort of pictures on the tv but never think they are quite real, but now i know they are. I like the idea of the train with no wheels, sounds like fun to me, just think if we had one of them from Chelmsford to London, it would take about 5 minutes to get to London, fab. Not sure i like the idea of sleeping on a floor though on one of your other train journeys. I've noticed you seem to be sampling a lot of local food as well, bet your missing a nice sandwich from the sandwich van though or a dounut or 2 from Southend Seafront. Not sure i'd be as brave as you and just buy something and then find out what it is, but at least that cafe you found had a menu with pictures. Keep the updates coming, nice to hear what your doing. Royal Bangkok
We try to follow your progress by your blogs and emails and it's very interesting. I've finally heard about the possible treatment for my bad eye. For me speed is of the essence. I drove dad and me home on Tuesday evening after PAH and wont do that again. In the dark I can't see. We'll be stumped if I can't drive. Cheers us up to read your diary though. A month till Christmas. Don't know how we feel about that this year. So much ill health. Take care love from dad and mum xxx
