On Sunday we had a huge storm blow into town. In the distance we could see the red dirt in the clouds. Out of no where the wind just picked up and we had a massive wind storm. Our doormats outside the pub went flying down the street. A tree across the street from the pub cracked and half of it fell over. Then our power went out. It was a pretty cool storm. Some thunder and lightning throughout the evening. The power came back on almost 2 hours later.

The bosses went out of town again this week and left me in charge of everything. I had to do all the banking, do the post office stuff, pick up a few things in town and do all the beer orders. Kind of full on for me and i'm not really getting paid well enough to do all these extra things haha. But it's good experience. It's a bit scary though because i'm staying in the pub all by myself at the moment with no one else and apparently the pub is haunted by a young girl. I haven't seen or heard anything yet but you know, staying in an old pub plays tricks on your mind!

Kylie and I are sharing the workload while the bosses are away. I got Tuesday morning/afternoon off from the pub and Jo left me her car so I decided to go around town and do a little bit of exploring. I went out to the small airfield and discovered the original cemetery from Southern Cross from the 1890's. Many of the people died so young. I drove up to the lookout for a view over SX. Then I took a drive out to the train station so you could see how tiny it is. When the train drops you off there you can see there really isn't much there haha. After that I drove out to the golf course which is next to a salt lake. The golf course isn't like ours. It's al dirt and the "greens" are like black sand.

It didn't take me long to tour around Southern Cross that's for sure. Enjoy the pics!

Love the pictures...glad you got to travel around town and get these for your library. We got to learn about Southern Cross too. No thanks on the golf though.
