My 2nd stay in HK. Have taken it easy, yesterday swam in Deep Water bay and today took the fast ferry to Discovery bay on Lantau, an upmarket ex-pat estate with a nice beach. Topped up the suntan. I'm in the 26 bed dormitory at the hostel. Thankfully there's only six others there and they're all quiet sleepers. It apparently fills up in the summer months. 26 sweaty blokes in one room, 30C and 95% humidity?! I definitely came at the right time of year. The sea temperature is 23C and it's around 26C by day and 18C at night.

It's when the sea temperature reaches 26˚C that typhoons occur, but lets hope there wont be one. You're still enjoying the trip then? And we still wish... None of your post from HK etc has reached here so far. Would you have expected your parcels to have arrived? Tomorrow we are expecting a visit from Dom. She's had her tooth out, I think. Anyhow I texted that we'll be having our flu jabs early tomorrow and to come after 11am and then said come any time at all but give me a ring to make sure we haven't left for Hong Kong. Don't know whether she'll bring Tyler. I'm trying to keep a record of your messages for dad to read so keep them coming. Oh yes - Jen was sent to Paris by her firm to oversee the setting up of some display to do with lighting and she's gone alone. Alice says Jen's quite confident about it all - guess her year of travel gave her that confidence. Take care. mumxxx
