We'll be here in February. The sites are amazing. A+!
Sunday, perfect weather for a drive from Silver Lakes (between Naples and Marco Island) to Chokoloskee Island to see where we will stay for a few days in February. It exceeded our expectations. SOOOO hoping we get a water site!

After touring the RV Park, we had a great lunch of Cuban sandwiches at the Havana Cafe. The area is remote, but there seem to be several restaurants and at least one kayak rental business in the Chokoloskee Island / Everglades City area.

Heading back to Silver Lakes we stopped in at "Stans" on Goodland Island. This place is almost always crazed and tons of fun. The celebration was made more so by Halloween!

Home to Silver Lakes RV Park via Marco Island. There is no ambience to speak on a Marco "drive through." Like so many places you have to work on it to find the great beaches and restaurants with water viets. There are many, many high rise condomins along a commercial strip. But the weather is right!

We stopped at Isle of Capri Fish House for a happy hour Marguerita and had time for a dip in the Silver Lakes

Chokoloskee Island is a few miles beyond Everglades City.
Pool. When we got back to the RV at dusk, the lovely neighbors paid a call with a plate of chocolate mint brownies.

Wes grilled delish pink Gulf shrimp (from the Farmers' Market) and we watch pink clouds reflected in the pond in front of our site.

Great sunset; great day! So LUCKY!

Sunday is always the day at Stans; made even more crazed this week since it fell on Halloween.

We love this place. Returning for dinner on Tuesday. Going to try the Early Bird Specials! This will be a first for us - we are normally late eaters.

Livin' The Good Life
You did the right thing and seem to really be enjoying your retirement-too many people make the mistake of waiting too long. I'm almost there. My place is in Palm Coast, Florida in Flagler County. Cheers! Ted

Hi Ted
We are living the life; we are also both still working to a certain extent. Best wishes with your own future plans.

Lucky You is right!
Needless to say waking up to temps in the 30's and having to go to work make my retired RV'ers realize how lucky they are. Love the pics and commentary - they're my escape! The mirror image is awesome! Jayne
