Our truck
1990 Pajerowell, I am bored after work so I figured I would whip up a quick blog with a map of where we have been too, how many km's driven and the cost of gas around the country. and a list of items we took to be safe in the outback.
So here is a quick rundown I guess:
Km driven: 12000km's on the truck
Map says: 8xxxkm's but doesn't include all sidetracks
Where the map doesn't show we were on a road, it is a 4x4 trail or rough road where a high clearance truck is required. 4x4 was never really engaged though, most is doable in 2wd except some deep mud further south and soft sand on the south side around Albany.
cost of fuel: too much...
These cost breakdowns are for 91 petrol
Major towns: 1.17-1.35
Small towns: 1.40-1.50
NT side of the Plenty highway : 2.00L
Alice area: 1.30-1.45
Great central Road: 1.80-1.90
Truck Driven:
1990 Mitsu Pajero wagon
3.0L petrol Auto
4wd with 31X10.5 wheels
Cost of the vehicle: 3800.00
Ownership transfer: 150.00
repairs along the way : 700 in parts
Insurance: 35.00 per month
Rego : 427 per 6 months
Fuel Economy:
Dirt roads average - 12L/100km at 80kmh
Highway average - 15L/100km at 100kmh
Offroad no 4wd average - 17L/100km mostly below 30kmh
Furthest distance between fuel ups: 800km's
Gas average cost... ummm
lets roll with 1.45L
Gas cost: 2700.00 about

4WD track - 700kms
