Kate reconnecting with the kids
Well here we are, back in Uganda with the kids we love so much. Landing at Entebbe airport, we were a bit shell shocked after an epic journey which involved four planes, and about 30 hours of no sleep. Needless to say we just wanted to get to the Backpackers Hostel and lie down for a while. However, the saying, TIA (This Is Africa), had other plans for us...

After scoping out the accommodation and realising that we really didn't want to have to light a fire every night to cook our dinner, we headed straight up to Sanyu Babies Home where we stayed last time. Luckily they could fit us in for our time here.

After sleeping for 15 hours straight we visited the babies at Sanyu and the kids at Peace for Children Africa (PCA). Let us just say that the welcome we got from both of them was overwhelming and made the whole painful flight well worthwhile - we could not have been happier.

In our first week here we met with the 'Uncles' of the organisation and they honoured us by asking us to be on their Board of Trustees... a hefty responsibility for

us both but one that we are more than honoured to take on.

We have reconnected with the kids and have started planning their education needs for next term. We fluked it by turning up just as their school holidays of one month started, which will allow us to spend the maximum time with them until they return to school at the end of May.

However it hasn't all been smooth sailing and we have already had to take one of the children to the clinic with Malaria. Thankfully she has now made a full recovery. On top of this Kate and I have had our own misfortunes with Kate being electrocuted (she is okay!!), and Jacqui breaking her toe (she is okay too!). And that is only week one...stay tuned for further misadventures lol.

Rather than rambling on anymore, we will leave you with some photos of our first week here. If anyone would still like to donate, or knows anyone who would like to donate, the bank account details are:

Until next time, take care
