Gentle Readers,
This really is the last of the blogs, and it's not even being written by me. See below, it's self explanatory.
To all of you, many thanks for your support, encouragment and kind words over the past few months.
I have had a wonderful break, but now it's time to catch up with family and friends before returning to work.
For the record, the Beast of Burden and I finished up covering 5,551 kilometres. The top speed of 68.4 kph achieved on the West Coast was never exceeded. The one and only puncture occurred in the central North Island. The bike has the same set of tyres we set out with.

I had to wake up at 5am witch I did and then I had to get dressed very quickly for marks dad picked us up to take us to the train station. It took about 15 minutes to get to the train station but quite a while to get to the air port after hours. Then we got on the plane then we had to stop off at shanghai air port for six very long hours then we had get on to another plane which I didn’t enjoy as Much as the fist plane and after all that time we finally got there.
The next few days were spent getting over jetlag in Auckland And catching up with relations - Auntie Sarah, Uncle Ross and baby cousin Tai as well as Grandma Shirley my incredibly nice cousins Oliver, Isabelle, Merran, Uncle Mark and my Dad, who I hadn’t seen for two very long years.
I had a really good time going up Mt Eden with Sarah, Ross and Tai.
There was a really deep volcanic crater and I kept climbing down the sides. Another highlight was playing with Jackie the dog, who belongs to Uncle Mark but lives with Grandma Shirley.
Then it was time to fly to the South Island to meet my very nice Uncle Mike and Auntie Judy. The first night we all shared the same big bedroom. It was very hot and stuffy but it was really good fun.
The next day we drove from Queenstown to Te Anau and moved into a house where we are staying for three days. Last night, we visited a cave filled with glow worms. It was excellent and I really enjoyed it - especially the exciting rush of the noisy water.
It poured with rain all night and through much of the day. It didn’t stop us. We went to Milford Sound where the views and the waterfalls were spectacular. Then we got on a ship and the views were even better up close. As we got closer to the sea it got incredibly bumpy and I hit the wall and the comment desk. Then we went back.well now im giong back to aukland and
seeing every one agian oh i nearly forgot i got to speak to my couisin sam on the phone. well thats all from me see you late.

Hi there Jack and Feral, fantastic words and pictures from the deep south, Have you heard Te Anau has recently been cut off from civilisation by flood waters. It was great to catch up with you jack, Oliver and isabelle had a great time playing tiggy, blowing bubbles and jumping off the pontoon with you. If I am still living in the bush at Waiwera next time you visit you will have to have a go on the Tarzan swing!!!. Have a safe journey home, lots of love. Uncle Mark, Oliver and Isabelle oxoxo
