actually got out of the compound.. was fun running the gaunlet of carts and tanks and children walking the streets.

There is this really big hole next to where i work here at the New Embassy Complex. It is the start of the Hilton Hotel Kabul.. they put this massive crane up.. dug a big hole and then stopped.. Its a great location right next to the mebassy and near the airport.. but nobodies doing anything.. guess there afriad that the bad guys are gonna come back and invade..

the grocery store backyard
in the mddle of nowhere we found a store that sells western food stuffs and groceries..i walked out back and found this.. it was a cloudy day but the mountains still were great

Every adventure is worth the journey
It's nice to finally have an idea of your surroundings. The hills are beautiful indeed. The compound is...well it's a construction site so it's not all that fabulous - but hey, you are ;-) I'm glad to hear that you're adjusting well. Just be careful and don't get too comfy...we want you back home in July! - Wahine
