Getting an E-Passport from DFA
Dear friends, please be informed that this is a personal blog and the author is not in any way connected to DFA(Department of Foreign Affairs). It is the author's intention is just to share his/her experience going through the e-passport application. You may direct your concerns to DFA through this website. Thanks!
Just got back from DFA for the epassport application. Everything was a breeze.
Requirements:
1. Make an appointment here
DFA E-Passport Appointment
2. Once DFA respond to email for appointment date, reply back to confirm.
3. Don't forget to print your email appointment notification. This will be your "passport" inside DFA.
3. Filled up
MRP application form (it can be used on both MRP and epassport )
4. Photocopy of back and front of passport and latest departure / arrival.
On the actual day:
1. Proceed to DFA Gate 3, ignoring the fixers (you don't need them)
2. Upon arriving in Gate 3, Don't fall in line to get in. Just present the email appointment notification and you will be able to enter the other entrance (no line)
3. Go to Window 26 - 28 (only for E-passport). Give your email notification for the person in charge will check if your name exist on the appointment list. Present the following:
a. Original Passport
b. Photocopy of back, front of passport and departure/arrival stamps
c. Filled up MRP application form
d. Email appointment notification
4. Personnel in charge will cancel your passport, then presents you a receipt which you will bring to Cashier.
5. Go to cashier located outside the processing area. Pay the necessary fees.
a. P950 if release date is within 14days.
b. P1,200 if release date is only within 7 days. (Ours will be released on Feb 16, 2010 since we chose this)
6. After payment has been made and receipt is stamped as completed, proceed to 2nd floor.
7. On the doorway, just tell the guard that you are scheduled for the epassport. Don't mind the line on the doorway. Epassport room is at the end of the hallway (near the Landbank atms)
8. Give your processed application forms to the guard when in the Epassport room. The guard will submit your document to the next available personnel.
9. Once name is called, be prepared to take your picture, thumprints and signature.
10. Once done, proceed to the large hallway where the LBC delivery kiosk is located. Pay for the passport delivery fee (P100).
11. Wait for your passport to be delivered.
Our schedule was 8:00-9:00am and luckily, it wasn't that crowded except for those that are lined for MRP.
Now, i'll just wait for my spankin' new Epassport and I'm ready to do some wandering! 😊
By the way, Before posting any queries, I'M NOT FROM DFA. I'm just an ordinary citizen who just got her E-Passport and sharing her experience during the whole passport application. Many Thanks!
