Lee and JuliaLee and JuliaLee and Julia

A happy couple!

On January 1st a special visitor arrived at the Jensen household. But first, a little history.

Last year Julia began corresponding with a young man named Lee Parish, from Rush Springs, OK. When Julia made a trip to the states last fall, she and Lee made arrangements to meet, and shortly afterward, they began an official courtship. Things continued to go well, and plans were made for Lee to come here to visit us.

He arrived on the 1st, and on January 4, Lee proposed to Julia. She said YES!! 😱 Details have not been worked out yet, but they plan to be married some time during our furlough this year, which will be July - September. Our congratulations to Julia and Lee! We are very happy for them. Please keep them in your prayers, as they prepare to walk the Christian life together.

In Christian Love,
George and Joy

That's Wonderful
My congrats to everyone! Keep us posted. It must be something in the air this holiday season: have heard of several engagements, most exciting for us, our Kristi. She and Doug have been officially dating over a year and everyone pretty much figured something more permanent was in the works. He called and talked to Lyle the first part of Dec. Then, just before Christmas, after their Church Career Group had a nursing home ministry, he disappeared. When she tracked him down in a conference room, he gave her the ring and asked if she'd marry him. (Said he chose the nursing home to symbolize the endurance of his committment. Only thing that might have been more long-lasting he thought was a cemetery, but as he didn't have one handy, he'd picked the nursing home, hoping they would plan to grow old together. (c: The date is April 17 down there in SC. They probably will stop off here for a reception as they return from their honeymoon. --- Hey, it's cold and snowy in IA. You've probably heard, but it makes that one cold, snowy IA winter you experienced look like a baby winter. We were without power 36 hrs. Every time they get the snow pushed back, another blizzard. Up to 6 in. coming tomorrow. Another big storm forming in the Pacific for the end of next week. Some days we don't get up to zero. Reminds me of THE LONG WINTER by Laura Ingalls Wilder! Happy New Year, Nadine

Congratulations Julia
Since this guy is an OKIE he must be good. A wedding is a wonderful family time too. Last year when Lori and Allen got married we enjoyed all the plans and the event. Enjoy this time together. Love Jim and Betty.
