We started our very exciting day, by visiting our local bakery and sharing a chocolate croissant the size of our heads (literally - see pic)!!!
We sat outside our local supermarket eating it, and shared the remains with the really cute 12 week old Chihuahua pups (soooo adorable), that belong to the shops owner!!! (Yes we did consider slyly slipping them both into our jumpers and running away)!!!
We then walked back to our hotel, to get picked up by our tuk-tuk driver for the day called Kim....and yes he is a man!!!
The first temple we visited was the famous Angkor Wat. It truely is a stunning sight! It took us about an hour to walk around, and we were really impressed at how well the temple was reserved, seeing as it is nearly 2000 years old.
Our next stop was the Angkor Thom Temple and its 3 closley surrounding temples, which all live inside the same rectangle stone walls.
These temples were magnificient! The climb to get to the top of each one was by no means for the faint hearted, but the views from the top were amazing!!!
After lunch we jumped back into our tuk-tuk and visited another couple of temples situated just outside the Anglor Thom walls. They are called Chau Say and Thommanom! They were slighly smaller temples, but still really beautful!!!
The next stop was the Ta Keo temple, which had the steepest and highest stone staircase leading up to the temples peak, that we have ever seen!!! Onie chickened out, but Rik managed to climb to the top like a monkey!!!
The next temple we visited is called Ta Prohm. This temple is our personal favourite! It had so many rooms and different levels to explore, and the famous Tomb Raider tree in which Angelina acept a lotus flower from a cambodian girl, is also situated here...stunning!!!
After we had finished looking around this temple, we were knackered!!! We enjoyed the 20 minute drive back into Siem Reap!!!
All in all, out of our trip so far...this is definalty one of our top high lights!!! We love Cambodia!!!!!
