Well the latest about the possible backpackers at Amangwe ... I received word that the committee is interested, very much so, but have some concerns and questions.. the questions were primarily about time and readiness.. I understood the concerns and responded in the way I thought best. I am still awaiting a response from this last email.. ready to head up to Amangwe and start building something great.

In other news, I am kicking myself!! On Saturday I decided to go with Sam to see this guy Lawrence in Ashburton..it's only around a fifteen minute drive from the farm. He was going to look at some vehicles Lawrence repairs and sells.. Why would I need to take my camera I thought? Just another auto garage..nothing special.. Well what Sam failed to tell me is that the auto garage is located on a giant plot of land that hosts about ten different types of boks, giraffe, crocodiles and zebras. I was so disappointed. I have been to plenty of game reserves in the past, but this was truly beautiful..the greenery was great, the river was beautiful and sparkling with crocodiles resting on the sides.. the giraffes came climbing from the other side of a hill, being illuminated by the sun.. Lawrence, being the incredibly friendly guy that he is, invited me back any time. So I plan to head back soon, with my camera.

Take care.

Go back soon! It never fails, when you need a camera you don't have it. But as usual, you have made another new friend and get the chance to visit again. I cannot wait until you find out more about the backpackers. But...don't give up, even if this is not the time...press on, it will all work out (that's my motto) love you!! mom

Good news Josh
Just to let you know that I am enjoying your travels but I have to say I think that you are a lot more adventurous than I am but you still make very interesting reading. Great Job!!! When I look back when I was in my twenties I was just as adventurous but I guess as time goes on it changes. Not that I am not active but what you seem to be doing is something that you will never regret and will always remember. Cheers. From Red Bluff, California. Clive Frethey.( you know the one who hurt your back terribly.)

Josh, we hate that you won't be home for Thanksgiving, but know that you are doing what you want to do. We miss you (I haven't had my hair cut since you left). Please take care. Love Aunt Donna

TAKE THE CAMERA EVERYWHERE!
Next time you head back there, take a photo or two. It's awesome that you are getting around so much out there and seeing many different places. Bookmark the good ones, so that if I get the chance to get out there, I'll be able to take some pics of my own. Be safe and have fun (don't go Fresno over there, GB's not there to take care of you). Kay says hi and that she's thinking about you. Take care, amigo.
