Can you believe it actually looks like this?
After Jenny accomplished the amazing feat of Mt Kinabalu, we decided to have a relaxing day on the beach. We headed out to the ferry terminal to wait. They don’t have schedules for the ferries, they wait for enough people to fill a boat and then send it out. Such an unordered system, and stuffed up the count, sent other people on the ferry we were supposed to be on, and we ended up waiting nearly 40 minutes instead of about 15! On the ferry the give you a life jacket, and the driver scoops water out of the bottom of the boat while steering with a plastic bucket. But since I am actually writing this blog, we obviously survived the trip without dieing a slow a horrible drowning death in the middle of the ocean. We first headed to Sapi Island, planning to spend the day there, and the driver explained that all the other tourists on our boat were seeing all three islands and he would discount the cost for us if we wanted to see all three.

So we spent two and a half hours on Sapi Island, doing some more snorkeling, when I got bit by a shark. But since I am actually writing this blog, I obviously survived the bite without dieing a slow a horrible shark bite death. It was only a reef shark, barely the size of my Siamese fighting fish, but it did in fact swim right at me and nip me in the thigh. Didn’t even leave a mark, but had me squealing and splashing like an idiot (just a note to anyone else getting hunted down by a shark, splashing makes them MORE likely to bite you). So we swam out past the little shit, and couldn’t find nemo this time. But I saw a massive moray eel, and I am sure they are dangerous too. That was enough anxiety for me for one day, so some more work on our tans, and then off to Manukan Island. Jenny preferred this island, we met some old ladies who were really well traveled, and only wanted to talk about their ailing health and all the health problems they were having in each country (South America - thrombosis; South East Asia - perforated ear drum; Australia - ear infection). Interesting. But wasted too much time with them, because it was soon time

We obviously survived this trip..
to go to Mamutik Island. By this time the sun had fallen behind the clouds, and this island was deserted. But deserted is always a bonus because lots of kisses without strange looks.

To date, this is the most beautiful place in the whole world! Soon it was time to sadly head home. We watched a beautiful sunset in Sabah by the water and then went out for drinks with Jenny’s new best friends from the mountain climb.

Our last night in Borneo was a good one, those guys are great, and hopefully Stuart will come to Brisbane and stay with us in April.

Love your guts
Jenny and Erin xx

PS mum we are safe!

I don't understand
Why on earth would you travel all the way to Malaysia when you could go to a lovely public pool in Brisbane. Sometimes I just don't understand you girls... Look forward to hearing more stories when you get home. Thomas
