Pink Wigs & cuddles with Harvey

Last week there was a charity day at the lagoon to raise money for ‘Breast Cancer Research’. There was a field of pink ladies, which you could sponsor in memory, hope or inspiration. I sponsored one and wrote a message of inspiration for my Grandma who has bravely gone through breast cancer twice. In the evening I wore a pink wig to work and we donated the tips that we made on the night to the charity. (We had been told to wear something pink but I was the only waitress who did, so did feel a bit stupid).

I have had another active week and taken part in the free fitness classes at the lagoon each morning. Water aerobics at 6:30am! (I was the youngest member of this group by about 30 years)

I have had a mixture of ‘roomies’ this week. Ranging from normal, to eccentric to complete weirdos. (Debbie and Leanne- You fit in the first category) I have some interesting room mate stories but will save them for my return.

On Saturday I wen to Palm cove, which is a lovely beach and then in the afternoon I went to a zoo in Cairns. The zoo was disappointing but I did get to cuddle a koala bear called Harvey. Apparently Queensland is one of the only states in Oz where it is legal to hold a Kola.

The restaurant has been very busy this week and will probably be even busier than usual because the US warship, Blue Ridge docked in Cairns yesterday so there are 700 American sailors wandering around this small city!

I only have 12 days left in Cairns before I start my road trip down the east coast. First stop is Mission beach for skydiving!!!!

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh missing you so much! we went out in the woolshrad but i dont remember much i got very drunk!!! skydiving on mission beach is brilliant have you booked your accomodation cos we stayed in a lovley hostle, ill find out the name for you. need to get another date chat sorted out xxx
