Day 10-The saying goes, all good things come to an end, and that's where we found ourselves reflecting of the wonderful days we've spent as a family on the island of Oahu. Kids grow up fast, so one needs to take advantage of times like these we have together.

We chose to stick around Pat's at Punaluu on Day 10 (a separate review of Pat's at Punaluu Condo's is on Travel Advisor) and be one with the sand and surf, that is, beach bums. We swam after elusive sea turtles that poked their wary heads above the surf not 10 feet from shore, and watched sand crabs burrow quickly into the sand when we approached them with footprints that were quickly washed away by the surging tide. And, when the day was nearly complete, we took in a last meal at Lei Lei's restaurant up in Turtle Bay resort and strolled along the beach at Turtle Bay watching surfers catch the last rays of sunlight as they retired for the evening.

I did manage to get stung by a man-o-war tenacle across my bald head and down my cheek while snorkeling on day 10, but a quick rinse of sea water, and some Balsamic Vinegar quickly eased the pain, and the virtually eliminated the tell-tale sign on my face within 2 hours.

We didn't do everything we intended to do this trip, but we did more than we expected at the same time. We didn't soar at Soar Hawaii (the kids decided they did not want to) nor did we golf (Kahuka Golf course did not have rental clubs, and for 3 of us to golf at Turtle Bay was just too big of an expense to swallow) but we did do much more snorkeling and sun/surf at many more beaches than we had planned.

The children are ready to go home. I think we are too. School starts next week, football for my oldest is in full swing (he missed a game this past week-end, which mentally killed him!) and soccer for the youngest. M wife and I have alot of work to catch up on as we return to our professional careers.

Thanks for reading, I thoroughly enjoyed capturing this trip using a blog, and I have about 900 pictures to post-process when I return home. Aloha!

Our kids enjoy their last day on the island, and in a rare photo, they act serious enough to have their picture taken in a posed portrait!

Thanks for sharing-enjoyed your trip-maybe not as much as you, but pictured the fun. Your comment about taking advantage of the times while your kids are still young (before they grow up) is what I've talked about for years. Didn't matter if we didn't have much, the fact that we took advantage of sharing those times was way more important than any dollars-I believe you now truely understand where I was at. Hope your trip home is safe and uneventful! Love you guys!
