The penguins... the ice.... Amazing!
Hello

What an amazing continent! What an amazing experience!
Feel very lucky and special to have stepped onto the Antartic, and to have seen what I have seen.

After nearly 2 days at sea, our first stop was Half Moon Island, which is in the Antartic Convergence but not actually Antartica itself. We got kitted out in all our warm clothes and our FREE Marco Polo red expedition parkas and boarded our zodiacs to take us from the cruise liner to the shore. It was soo cold (it is the Antartic!) and we began to wish we could go back in time and buy those water proof trousers - especially when a huge wave hit us!

It was stunning, we saw loads and loads of chinstrap penguins. They were soooo many and they were so cute. They were very friendly and came right up close to us. They were so funny too, and got to watch a few penguin games. We had a few lectures on the boat on the animals etc so we were knew what to look for.

The next day was Port Lockroy. We sailed through the LeMaire Channel, one of the most beautiful

Do you think they would miss each other if I stole one...
and narrow waterways in Antarctica with steep rock walls & glaciers - (apparently.... I was in a drunken sleep and missed it). We took our second landing onto a British research station and saw more and more penguins. They were stressed out tho and were getting killed lots by birds of prey. But still sooo cute.

The next day we went to the most beautiful place, Paradise Harbor. It was so stunning, loads of ice and more penguins. Was very very beautiful.

Antartica has definatly been a once in a lifetime experience, I am so lucky to have the chance to go and to have met many new lovely (and very funny) friends. I will update soon with the Falklands and on cruise activities!!
