We left Anchorage and headed to Denali National Park. We went through the town of Wasilla, home to Sarah Palin. It is a very pretty town. We checked out the Iternod Museam. They had some very nice displays. I found a road that we hadn't heard about, Petersville Road. It was a 20 mile dirt road to an old roadhouse. It was a beautiful drive, but the road was pretty rough. On to Denali... We spent 2 night in Denali and went on a tour on of the days. We could not see Mt. McKinley due to clouds. However, we did see alot of wildlife. A Grizzly bear with 2 cubs, severval hers of dall sheep, 20+ caribou, A large male moose , bald eagles and a golden eagle.
We backtracked a little to the Denali Highway. Another dirt road. So far, this wins the prize as the most beautiful drive. We came over a crest and we both at the same time said "WOW!" Check out the new photos and see if you agree? We finally spent the night at an Inn. We have now decided that we are more comfortable in the camper. We ordered the dinner
special which turned out to be a childs size portion of spagetti. It was a deal at only $17 each!
