Leaving the town for the day to do into the city.
We took the train to Brisbane a second time, and decided to check out the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary!! (I love zoos and all things relating to animals) We spent the whole afternoon there and besides koalas, we saw wombats, kangaroos (which we were able to pet), a wide variety of birds, dingoes, cassowaries, snakes and other reptiles. They had a little farm, with animals like sheep, goats, ducks, and chickens. We saw a sheep dog show! The farmer demonstrated how border collies are used to herd sheep. (This made me think of Molly). The highlight of the day for me was having my picture taken while holding a koala!! He was so cute and barely moved at all. He just clung to my shirt. Queensland is the only state in Australia where it is legal for the public to hold koalas, and so I took full advantage of the opportunity! Only cost $20. Totally worth it!

We then took a late train back to Mudgeeraba, and watched Crackerjack again, this time finishing it up. Like I mentioned last time, it was a very funny movie. It’s a very Australian movie, so it can be tough to figure out all

the Australian terms, but you start to catch on fairly quickly. The movie’s basically about a lawn bowling club that is running into financial trouble, and needs to make up some money in order to save the club. They find themselves an unlikely and reluctant star bowler in the main character, who had only applied to be a member to take advantage of their free member parking down in the city near his call center job! Most of the jokes revolve around the idea of new young blood getting mixed up in the older and more traditional world of bowls. In the end, it was pretty good. Definitely sheds some light on how come there are so many lawn bowling fields here in Australia!
