This was at the back of our hostel. It doesn't look that great but their noodles was really good!
Pre-MacauEvents

Just another "we will miss the flight!" scare; feels like crying just the thought of it(a.k.a huhuhu, i don't want to waste PHP9,000++)!

Of course we still made it to the Airport 😉 we were the last ones to board. Just to be informed that our flight will be delayed for 30 minutes. Our plane finally took off at around 8:30ish. It was just a small plane, just as small as the ones used in the domestic flights. More than an hour after taking off, we were informed that our plane was having technical difficulties and that we were going back to Manila; the last thing I would want to hear in the middle of the flight - it freaked me out! The flight attendants couldn't assure the fate of our flight. Just as we landed at the NAIA Airport, we were informed that we are to change planes *relief!*

Macau, Macau

After an overall flight delay of 4 hours, we were back on a different plane being bribed with noodles for dinner?! We arrived in Macau at around 11:30ish and took a taxi with a driver who doesn't speak english or if he did, I

First Meal: The menu was in Chinese so I don't know what it is called.
did not understand him. By using hand gestures, barok english and illustrations, we were able to find our hostel and he was actually trying his best to help us...tsaraaaan! we found it! The owner Richard was waiting for us outside because he didn't want us to wake the rest of the pack with the doorbell. There wasn't any elevator so we had to take the stairs up to the third floor with our luggages in hand. The hostel was jampacked tonight - there were atleast 4 people sleeping in what should be the living room and then 7 more people in our dormitory type room. There were 3 double bunks inside our room; one guy sleeping underneath one of the double bunks(very brave!). I didn't get to sleep because the room ... uh ... smelt something! Besides the fact that it was the first time that I had to sleep in a hostel with total strangers.

We went strolling around the next day ~ took free busses from casinos to casinos. We went to the Venetian Hotel in Taipa as it was one of the most recommended places to go; there were lots of shops in there(expensive ones) and

the gondola ride of course. We then went back to the Ferry terminal and walked around the Babylon Casino and the Fisherman's Wharf then we went back again to the Casino Lisboa in Macau for more strolling. We walked again to the Senado Square and to the ruins of St. Pauls where we met Kuya Greg, a Filipino who helped us find the way to The Macau Tower. After checking out the tower, we just hang out at a port(don't know what's the name) overlooking Macau; we waited until the Casino lights turned on. Then we went back to our hostel to re-charge the batteries and wash up and went out again to see the evening casino lights up close.

Most people couldn't or wouldn't speak english, which is frustrating. But they are kinda helpful; we would just show where we're going and then they'd try to use mental telepathy to help us find the place ~ just kidding. But yeah, they'd try to explain in whatever english they can use or speak full chinese with hand gestures, or when they see that confused look in our faces, they'd start pointing directions or nod to assure us that we're

going the right way. It was unexpectedly easy to go around Macau actually.

The people here love exercising; I'd usually see them jogging, doing taichi(taiji) or just doing any fitness routine. And on the other hand, they also love smoking.

and Segue ... I had a better sleep last night because we were exhausted from walking and because of the sleeplessness the previous night. The room still smelt something but the hostel was much less crowded since most of the people last night checked out already. Also because I had a little nice chat with my lovely roommates, two girls from Denmark - Lila and Ina who work in China(if i remember it right) and a nice guy from Singapore, Keith.

This morning, we were planning on seeing the Fortaleza Da Guia Lighthouse, ride the Cable car and check out the Tea Place for our last macau stroll but it rained on us and we got lost a little bit! I was previously underestimating the macau cold/thrill, so i guess it is its way of saying "No thrill huh?! Take that!". HAH! I froze my butt off ~ my ears and my hands were freezing! hehehe. Fine,

Hey! I've just left the Philippines for China and I know what you mean, it's quite a shock, NO ONE speaks English! I'm also having to get around using only hand gestures and facial displays :) Hope the rest of your trip goes well...
