Hostel Inn - just like a resort!
I know this may not apply to many of you back home who read my blogs, but for those fellow travellers who do read what I write and are either currently on the South American continent or about to arrive, I thought I would put together some information about some of the best hostels I have stayed in. They are not in any order just the best 10 so far along with whatever information I could remember for each. Most of these can be found on either hostelworld or hostelbookers and the prices include breakfast and internet access. The dorm prices are for dorms no bigger then 6 beds.

PERU - Arequipa
La Casa De Los Penguinos
$US25 twin
This is a new hostel with all mod cons. The Dutch lady who owns it is a champion as she woke Giss and I up so we didn´t miss our bus since we slept through our alarm after a massive night out.

CHILE - Iquique
International Youth Hostel
Dorm $US12
Great place to meet people and 10 meters from the sand. Awesome for chilling on the beach.

Santiago
Roja Hostel
Dorm $US10
Massive old mansion with huge rooms and

Pocitos Beach
pool. Great for meeting people and hitting the nightlife.

Porto Natales
Hostel Natales
Dorm $US12
Little out of town but clean and can store luggage for when you trek Torres Del Paine.

ARGENTINA
El Calafate
Calafate Hostel
$ARG200 twin
Clean and new. This is the second option if the International hostel next door is full. You can also bargain the price.

El Chalten
Pioneers Hostel (or similar - I can´t remember the full name)
Dorm $ARG50
Brand new and awesome. Got all facilities you need right in the heart of town. A bit too close to the only pub in town (a German Microbrewery) which may cause a few hazy days as it did us.

Porto Iguazu
Dorm $AUS16
This is the cheapest bed I have had so far and one of the best. The place is an old Casino so it´s like a resort. Great pool and easy to meet people.

URUGUAY
Montevideo
Pocitos Hostel
$US18 dorm
New hostel run by two lovely young Uruguayan guys (Martin & Nachos) who will help you with all bus and transport tickets. Located in lovely Pocitos near the beach which is a much better option

than downtown.

BRAZIL
Florianopolis
Tucano House
Dorm $40R
Awesome hostel. Great food and only 1 year old. Friendly staff - you could stay here a week or two easily.

Florianopolis
Casa Brasil Hostel
Only 2 months old and run by a mother and daughter team. Very clean and they even offer you homecooked food. Is only 1 street away from Tucano so good option if Tucano is full.

Rio
Ipanema Beach House
Dorm AUS$30
I am yet to stay here but all reports say it´s great even though it may be a little more expensive than others. I´m booked for a few days here so thought I would include it. It is also located In Ipanema which I am told is better than next door Copacabana.

I hope this helps all my fellow travellers. Also, with regards to Patagonia keep the questions coming as I am happy to answer them!!!
