I wake up at 04:45 (I must be nuts) to go to work. My parents drive me to work and I bid them farewell. I work till 11:00 then make my rounds to say goodbye to everyone. Desmond was kind enough to offer me a ride to the airport. Dez picks me up at 11:15 and off we go. In typical Dez fashion, he parks as far away from the other cars as possible to protect his Mini. The spot he picks happens to be on the other side of the parking lot where almost no other cars are parked. It's also the farthest point away from the International departures entrance. I mean honestly. If your car is going to get dinged it's going to get dinged, but he is looking after his baby so to speak...lol.

I check my luggage, pray that I will actually see it on the luggage carousel in San Francisco, and bid Dez farewell. I'm both excited and very nervous at the same time. At my gate, I pull out my laptop and get free Internet. Wooo Hooo! My gate just happens to be next to the Air Canada lounge. Note to self: get as

close to the lounge in airports as possible to get free Internet. YVR (Vancouver Airport) doesn't have free internet, but that will be changing in the near future from what I understand. The flight is a bit late leaving Vancouver, but that's okay as I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere. I'm now on Island time...lol. I get to San Francisco and call Anne to pick me up. To my surprise my luggage comes out quicker than I thought. Unfortunately, Anne is taking her time to come get me as she thinks my luggage will take a while. Oh well, no big deal. At least San Francisco is warmer than Vancouver.

After Anne picks me up, we pick up deep dish pizza for dinner. It's actually really good. I have three slices as I may not be eating pizza for a long time. After dinner, I show Anne, Joe, and Lance my travel companion Wilson. Lance immediately thinks that Wilson is his new toy. He even tries to grab Wilson off the dinning room table by climbing on it. I decide to put Wilson away or he won't make it out of San Francisco....lol. I catch up with Anne and

Joe during my 6 hours spent at their house. On the way to the airport, we make a slight detour to visit Danny (Anne's youngest brother) and Bonnie (his wife). It's great seeing Danny again. I haven't seen him in a long time and we chat for a bit before I bid Danny and Bonnie farewell. I'm finally on my way to the airport for my next flight. At the curb, I bid Anne, Joe, and Lance farewell. I go to check-in for my flight and I suddenly realize, I don't know enough Spanish. The lady behind the counter is speaking Spanish to me. Ahhhhhhh! Now I'm getting very, very nervous. I said I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone for this trip. I think I just did that...lol. Oh well. I'm just going to have to wing it 😊
