This is the one I had printed. I didn't like the old design.
On thursday morning I woke up and decided it was time to get up. I climb bed out of bed and stumbled into the common area and lied down there to have a nap. Steph's phone started to ring and whoever it was just kept calling and calling knowing someone would eventually pick it up. Finally I got fed up, woke her up and gave her her phone. Five minutes later I had day work. Apparently they needed a couple people on really short notice and knew that there would be plenty of people at the crew house ready to go.

It was pretty simple. Wash down the boat. Actually, Dad, what you do to the car twice I year I had to do to the exterior of a superyacht. Wash down and shammy everything. No water spots allowed. We had a couple water blades like the one we got you for the car and they really make things go a lot faster. It was a lot of fun actually, they just cranked the music from their 1000 disk player with built in speakers everywhere on the boat. For 4 hours work I made $70 as well as got a free pair of shorts and a shirt (boat uniform). They had to sneak us in as crew since the marina wants you to use their dayworkers. Apparently the ones they provide are not the greatest. I found out later though that one of the support beams I was polishing wasn't actually a support pole. It was actually a decorative dancing aid if you get my meaning. I'm going back there to work tuesday through thursday to acid wash the decks followed by doing a boat-wide detailing for the boat show.

Just so you know, since this blog is public, I'm not going to get into the habit of naming any of the boats I work on. I don't want to reveal anything about the yacht I'm not supposed to. Thank to google, it would be really easy for people to find it.

In other news, Mika and I were at the bridge opening. One of the people who was in the course with us is the captain of a racing sailboat. Her boat "Donnybrook" arrived today and right behind it was Bono's Yacht "Cyan". I find it odd that Bono is always campaigning for people to have a green conscience and yet he owns a large superyacht. Not setting a very good example.

Congratulations Neil! Good thing you got Steph to answer her phone. Hopefully this will be a start to getting into the loop. P.S. I really like your new business card.
