The Carolus Therme is a gigiantic bath house in Aachen. There are eight or more differnet hot tub/ pool type things in one great hall. I went with Kairi. She is another ASSE student. At first she and I had a difficult time figuring out where we were supposed to go. I was aware that I had to take the 51 bus in the direction of Alsdorf. I was, however, not aware that we did not actually need to ride the bus for a full 40 minutes to Alsdorf. So, Kairi and I had about a two hour detour before we actually were able to locate the correct stop. Which, coincidentally, was named Carolus Therme. There was more confusion awaiting us in the Therme when Kairi and I desperately tried to act like we knew how to function in a European locker room. After several minutes of brain work we finally understood the directions given to us by the guy at the front desk...in english. Kairi and I stayed there for three and a half hours and I'm sure I could have stayed even longer. There was a Dampf grotte, which is like a Sauna, but much more clensing. There was also a meditation room that had really comfy chairs and smelled like oranges...the room smelled like oranges, i mean. Not the chairs. The meditation room also had a type of special white lights that produced vitamin D. Similar to the ones in a tanning bed, but much less abrasive. On the way home Kairi and I stopped at McDonald's. Want to know something amazing? I've only been here two months and I have already consumed McDonald's food nearly three times! That's more than I had eaten at McDonald's in America in five years! We ended up getting home a bit later than expected becasue of our little trip to Alsdorf, but it wasn't a big problem. Laura had invited a few other girls from dance over for a Weiberabend (Ladies Evening) We played sing star and made non-alcoholic cocktails.

You must try this, it is nonnegotiable. Just search it (cheeseburger in a can) and about the third page down should be the Onion AV Club's "Taste test" of it (they link to the product page). It is only available in Germany. Buy it. Eat it. Blog it.
