Ayres Rock

Yesterday was another full day of sightseeing. We started with an early rise to go and see the first light of day strike Uluru. It was lovely but the coach driver wanted us back on our way just as it was getting to it's best colour. We then wondered round it's base and "listened" to some more culture. Later in the afternoon we visited Kata Tjuta, which although not as famous as Ayre's Rock we enjoyed more. This was probably down to the much better driver and guide (they slammed the breaks on at one point to go pick up a thorny lizard from the side of the road to show us!)

Next we returned to Uluru for a glass of wine (or a few!) while we watched the sun set on it's other side. We ended the evening with a fab BBQ in the desert where Debs had Kanga kebabs, needless to say I didn't try them! The BBQ ended with some star gazing. All the light were turned off and the sky just lit up. I don't think I've ever seen so much up there. A guide with a laser pen showed us lots of things including various star signs, the milky way and even stars that were red and blue!

At the moment we are sat at our hotel waiting to be picked up to fly to Cairns. Sorry no photo's again, internet machines in Oz don't seem to like you uploading data!

Kangaroo???
I cant believe that you at kangaroo, its just like i'm a celebrity! Just thought you would like to know that millie is fine and is now trained in staying downstairs, not jumping or sleeping on beds and is going out a lot. she even stays out all night sometimes, the rebel (i think it may be due to the little people in the house (or the smallest one of the two) trying to catch her by the tail!!) We had the wedding pictures on the computer last night and she jumped onto pauls lap to look at the screen and then fell asleep on him, so i am not sure she is missing you at all!! Sounds like you are having a lovely time, only 5 weeks to go, how will you cope being back in the real world? xx

Do Kangaroos have four legs?
So do Kangaroos have four legs or two legs and two arms? Apparently they don't give off methane like cows so they are more environmentaly friendly... Glad you are enjoying yourselves.
