Just back from a dive trip and its too hot to sunbathe so perfect time to leave Debs by the pool and me to blog.
Well we landed in Bali just after 1am Sunday morning and on the drive to our hotel we saw a pretty cool thunder storm in the distance.
Sunday - We had another lazy day to get over the lost few hours of sleep and didn't wander much further than the pool or the beach in front of the hotel. The hotel and the room is lovely, thanks Mike (Mike and Chris stayed here last year and got us a specific room and a good deal).
Monday - Up early for a diving and snorkeling trip. I was really looking forward to this as haven't been in the water for over a year! We set off in the dive boat from Sanur and headed off to Nusa Penida. It was a bit of an iffy crossing as one of the engines kept conking out, but they sorted it in the end. The first dive was off Nusa Penida near Lambongan Island at SD point. It was a nice 20M drift with a Hawksbill turtle
at the end as we were doing our stop. Debs in the mean time was happily snorkeling and sunbathing. The second dive was just off Nusa Lembongan at Sakenan point. Again this was a drift dive but a bit slower so I could at least attempt some photos. Unfortunately I didn't see any Sunfish which are apparently common in the area. Overall am impressed with my first and possible only taste of Bali diving.
Tomorrow we're off for a tour around the island......
