Our rought in the last week

“No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow. “
~Lin Yutang

On our last week in Turkey we mainly did the beach thing. We enjoyed our time in Turkey very very much. They say the genes of Chimpanzees and Man are 97%!s(MISSING)imilar. But the 3%!m(MISSING)ake a huge difference. When traveling to a foreign country you usually find that 97%!o(MISSING)f the way people live and behave around the world is the same as it is at home and you spend most of your time seeking the 3%!d(MISSING)ifference in order to learn and experience something new. In turkey it was difficult to find that difference. We felt much at home. The temperament, history and some of the views are similar When we have visitors to Israel we usually take him to a middle-eastern restaurant to experience “real-Israeli-food” and there you get food that is similar to Turkish food. The religion is different but the secular attitude is like in Israel. to tell the truth we were a bit “disappointed” to find that Turkey is a modern place. But we still go to see interesting and unique places, eat excellent local food, explore the rural and more traditional places in Turkey, and interact with the friendly Turks. And best of all we got to spend time together as a family and overcome all the challenges of traveling.
We can’t wait to do it again.

“In America there are two classes of travel -
first class, and with children. “
~Robert Benchley

Of the two options above Liya is a first class business traveler.. It seems Liya enjoys flights very much. Her enjoyment starts at the airport. She looks around for casual friends. When she finds someone that she is interested in, she starts networking with small talk and quickly gets into the business of playing with him. When we enter business lounges she enjoys her self so much that on the flight to Istanbul we were last to board the plane and had to be personally paged. We' had 7 flights on this trip. In each one of them Liya fell asleep while the plane was taxiing out and woke up when it was taxiing at our arrival port. The only time she complained slightly was when another baby was crying near us. The nerve! Who flies with a crying baby? She ate some of the airplane food and fell back asleep ready for her exploring her new destination…

And as ye would that men should do to you,
do ye also to them likewise."
Luke 6:31,
King James Version.

All around the world if you see more then one car driver in the opposite lane flashing his head-lights it will mean one thing - there is a police radar in your direction ahead. I wonder how such behavior evolved the same way all around the world? How is it that law abiding citizens of the world unite in such a way against the police under all forms of rule? And what makes people perform such a selfless deed without any clear personal benefit and without any promise that the same will be done to them? In any case we thank the anonymous Turkish drivers that helped us get to our destinations fast and without risk of a ticket.

It is a known fact that 43%!o(MISSING)f statistics are made up

In the last week we drove 1350 km so the total amout of distance we traveled on this trip by car was - 5120 km . we used 3 cars and had a Total of 7 flights

We slept in 17 different hotels. There were only 3 hotels with a baby bed so Liya spent 24 nights sleeping between us. It will be difficult both for her and for us to go back sleeping in different beds.

In 4 locations we stayed 3 nights - this corresponds to the places we most enjoyed - Istanbul, Brhal, Gorme and Bodrum.

Liya eat meat 2 times in Turkey - half a hamburger in Istanbul and 2 Chicken Nuggets in a McDonalds on the way to Bodrum

Liya added 4 teeth to her original 3 in the last month.

Because his bag was missing, Yaron used only 2 different t-shirts bought in Istanbul’s bazaar in the time spent between Istanbul and Bodrum (total of 24 days ). The statistic for underwear is not much better but we will spare the details

We saw a
Hierapolis Ruins Hierapolis Ruins Hierapolis Ruins

Theater seats
total of 16 episodes of “Friends - 1st season” on the laptop in the evening after Liya fell asleep

Countless - the number of Turks that touched/kissed/pinched Liya on the street, while she was eating and during here sleep.

Priceless - the time we spent together

“And I feel that times a wasted gold
So where ya going to tommorrow”?
Stone Temple Pilots

The first lesson of economics 101 is “time is money” which is - at lease in theory - very true. Given enough time you can make as much money as you want or need. Many people confuse this relationship and mistakenly think that this is an equation and “money is time” as well. Unfortunately, this is not true. Time is the only real resource which can not be bought or bartered. You might be able to free up some of it (and the more money you have the more free time you get) but the fact is that you get a best case allowance of 80-odd years.
In order for us not to waste and misuse time we will reset the countdown for our next

Hopefully, we use this time well when not traveling and get back on the road before this clock runs out.
