1st September 2008

I had an excellent day today celebrating actually having to use sun tan lotion!!! It was one of those days when you are just happy to be alive! I believe it was the first official day of spring today and it didn't dissapoint - it was so lovely and I spent all day outside with a big smile on my face.

Met Craig for coffee first off then I went and told my alcoholic boss at the Darling Harbour Bar that I quit and celebrated with oysters and prawns at the fish markets soaking up the sun. I then did a bit of shopping for Jessica's 3rd birthday present in China town and walked all the way to Glebe round Jubilee park and Victoria park for those who know Sydney at all and then caught the bus to Circular Quay as seeing the opera house in the sun is the only way to see it really (or else it doesn't look white - the photos you see do it more justice than the real thing) and then I walked in the botanical gardens avoiding the low flying bats until sunset and ferried it back to Balmain.

2nd Sept - Another nice day so I decided not to waste time and got myself to the beach - well 4 beaches actually. Spent the day walking from Coogee to Clovelly, Bronte and then Bondi and finished the day in the North Bondi RSL with some seafood and wine (a recurring theme for my trip it seems!). The day was spoiled somewhat by the phone call advising me that I had an interview in less than 24 hours with Macquarie Bank!! I didn't get it by the way but thanks Ken and Tim for all your helpful tips!!

I've spent the rest of the past few weeks working, settling into my new pad (had a great meal cooked for me last Sunday with all my flatmates - cheers guys). I have also been out with Pete and Nancy whose house I was kindly allowed to stay in for the best pizza in the Inner West - but better still the best - and biggest it seemed - Nutella Calzone around.....anywhere....... 6 of us shared it!!! I've also joined a gym to burn off the likes of oversized nutella calzones and have started working in my local pub - Dicks, where I enjoy the odd schooner of Pure Blonde beer.

Lots of days have been spent sunning myself in the garden and yesterday it hit 30 degrees but I was none too happy as I had to work!!! But to make you all feel better there were some pretty heavy storms all day today!!

I am hoping to get in a scuba dive soon and I am slowly working my way through every cafe in the Rozelle/ Balmain area - of which there are hundreds! Piccollos and Cordelias are my favourites so far for those in the know (i.e. you Tim).

So all in all I am very well. I am spending more money than I ever imagined and earning very little! BUT I feel relaxed and happy and that's what counts!!! (Right?).
