I got some action! I actually paid for it...hmmm...
So I want to describe my adventures in massage because I just had another one today. I will be comparing the Indian Ayurvedic massage and the Thai massage. Here goes:
The Ayurvedic masasge I got in McLeod Ganj. I had just traveled for 8 hours via 5 different means of transportation & wasn't feeling fabulous, so when I checked into my room & saw the sign for a massage, I was like 'sweet!' So she came to my room a couple hours later & briskly told me to take off my clothes & lie on the bed. She asked for a towel, but I didn't have any extras so I just layed on my sheet. It started off pretty normal (ok, slightly violent) & the Ayurvedic oils were strong smelling. I was enjoying the massage until 2 things happend: 1) I was goosed and 2) she massaged my chest...my whole chest--totally weird! I kept awkwardly thinking 'Ummm...is this normal?' So I'm not sure if she was a doctor or not, but it's nice to think that I got an extra breast exam in during the massage. This only confirms the fact that

although books do often make me smile
I am definitely prudish when it comes to strangers (well, ok, & people I know...what can I say, I was raised Catholic....and American).
Then I got to Thailand and had a Thai massage (or 5 and counting...) here and it was a completely different experience. First it was at a mall & I just walked in. Then she gave me an outfit (baggy top & pants--very comfortable) to change into. Then the massage was lots of stretching & pushing with no oils or anything. So needless to say I was much more comfortable & enjoyed this one way better--no awkward moments! Plus the massage (including tip) was only $9 -- awesome! The cheapest massage I have gotten so far by the way was here in Thailand for $8 (including tip) -- even awesomer!
More about Thailand to come. Just so everyone knows: Thailand rocks!

sweet!
You had me at "I got some action!" Hehe, anywayz it's great reading all your travel stories. I'm off to some random ranch in Northern California next week. Isn't it cool that one year ago you decided to go world traveling. Seems like just yesterday. Anywayz, don't forget to practice your Thai karaoke there so you can perform for us next time you're in Hawaii.

Breast Exam
ALL massages I got in India included a full breast rub-down, a vigorous ass rub and sometimes an inner thigh work-out. It seems to be the norm, but it's probably good to catch any extra lumps :-)
