Hello my friends!
As you all know I am here in Guadalajara for the next couple of months. I thought it would be cool to keep you guys updated...well those of you want to know..about what I am up to here. There will be lots of funny stories to come.

So I will start with my first day going to Guadalajara. So I left my house at 4 in the morning to get the airport in Sacramento. As soon as I got there I found out that my 6'o clock flight had been canceled. This freaked me out because I hate being late or not knowing exactly where I am going and at what time. But it worked out because I got a flight with Delta which was actually better because they serve food and instead of having two layovers i only had one! The only problem was that because my flight was cancelled they had to check every persons bag from that flight. So they went through both my carry- ons and took everything out and then i had to put it all back in and basically it was horrible. And it took forever. But I made it to my flight and flew to Salt Lake City. It was here when things got confusing. As soon as I walked to the gate for Guadalajara I felt like i was there. Everyone was speaking Spanish and the announcements were in Spanish and I was like thank god i understand! The plane ride was alright. The lady next to me asked me something but i have no idea what she was talking about....something about bathrooms. But when we were about to land some lady like passed out and this other lady had to give her CPR in the aisle as we were landing. And it was freaking scary because the lady that passed out was lying on the floor right next to my seat! And the stewardist was freaking out and it was just all bad. She ended up being fine, which is good because I would have freaked out if she had died or something. After waiting for the paramedics for like 15 minutes we got off the plane and i met another girl from my program. Together we walked through customs and all that stuff. We then met at a Starbucks with other people from the program. From here i was only speaking spanish...which was kinda crazy. A guy from the program drove me to my "dorm" which apparently is more like a bed and breakfast. He basically just helped me carry in my bags and I was on my own. This is when I met Martin (pronounced MAR-TEEEN). So Martin works at the bed and breakfast on the weekends. I asked in spanish if he spoke English and he said no. Then he tried to tell me how to fill out this form, but i didn't know a lot of the words and didn't understand his translations. So I felt freaking DUMB! He looked at me like "awww poor american". after he gave me a tour of the place and showed me where to put my food, etc. He then helped me take my stuff to my room. Then I was all alone. But that didn't worry me too much, I just knew that I had to find a phone because as we all know my parents are crazy and they would worry way too much if i didn't call. So this is where the adventure begins. I worked up the courage to asked Martin if I could make a phone call and he said no. Then I asked where I could and he told me in the streets. So I took my phone card to the streets to make a call. I got to the phone on the corner but they only accept a specific type of phonecard. So I went back to my room. A little bit later I decided to look for a store to buy a phone card because I knew my parents were probably going to worry because my flight had come in like 3 hours earlier. As i was walking downstairs I saw my roommate Emily. I didn't know her but I asked who she was and she told me. I told her we were roommates and that I would be back soon. I found a grocery store and went in and asked if they had phone cards and they said no. So i decided to go home introduce myself to my roommate. When I got back to the dorm, Martin looked at me like I was absolutely crazy and then said something to me. I was confused so he repeated it and told me that I am not allowed to take my key outside of the dorms. I have to leave it at the front desk everytime. Once again I felt freaking stupid!!! I laughed and said sorry and then quickly walked away. I went upstairs to see my roommate waiting outside the door because we only have one key for the both of us! I introduced myself and chatted it up for a while. It was great because we clicked right away which is going to make Mexico soo much better.
The rest of the day was pretty chill. My roommate and I went looking for my phone card and finally found one. we also bought some nasty chicken nuggets from the freezer section in the grocery store. I am pretty sure MArtin thinks we are crazy because we were sitting there eating plain chicken nuggets that were like super soggy and gross. So that was it for the first day. I am too tired to write about the second day. But it was super funny. I will write later. Hope you enjoyed my story...haha.

Can I just say that it is super weird to pretend that I am like writing to you guys? I am trying to write like I talk but i am not used to it!
