Firday night with Jackie's boys, Marcelo and Teun
The last two weeks have flown by and I now finally have time to blog. A few changes have occured since my last confession, most noticably postal address. I am now living in Newtown with my old boss from The Pier, Hayley. Newtown is great, lots of restaurants, cafes and little shops, basically lots to do. Im staying in an apartment block on the top floor and my room is literally on the roof, I have a door I can go through and I am on the roof with 360 degree views of Sydney. Amazing! Hayley has been a legend and made me feel super welcome. It was sad to leave Epping and the lovely Jackie but as has become customary; Friday nights are spent with Jackies other residents, Teun and Marcelo, and a fair amount of booze . . . which is nice!

I am now working full time at the gallery and it is fantastic. They have also organised day trips each week to other institutions. So far I have spent the day at the Museum of Contemporary Art and the State Records. Both were great and show another aspect of conservation. Im wary of divulging info of

I hope your proud Femke, found the only Belgium bar in Sydney!
the art type but so far I have worked on aboriginal bark paintings, seen the 2nd ever map of Sydney and worked on a Hans Haysen (Australian artist) and a Degas, well the frame anyways! I cant believe I am halfway through my internship already, I wish it was longer!

I have been slightly less touristy the last weekend but soaking up the Australian atmosphere, its getting much warmer now! Next weekend though I have a few spots I intend on visiting.

Indeed you do make me proud. But I don't like the dividing. We'll work on that in Newcastle!
