Hello Everyone!!

I´m here!!!! After no more than two hour´s wait in Houston, I arrived the 24th in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, about 11pm local time. A nice man told me they only allowed people to hold signs if they had a ´contact´in the airport, and sure enough, someone had a contact because there was someone holding a sign. It read "Anna Hershy, Los Pinos".

The family I stayed with is related to Zonia, the lady I am living with. Because it is the rainy season, we stayed in San Pedro Sula until Sunday, until the roads had dried out a bit. Sunday was a big treat for me, we went to Puerto Cortes and spent a day by the ocean. We went to a private beach, you had to buy the food and drink to use the beach, it was so beautiful, I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend with the family.

Monday, Zonia and I drove to Santa Rita, the town I will be living in. The drive was very interesting, people drive really crazy here, and there are people, animals, all sorts of things along the street (and in the street). It takes about 3 hours to drive from San Pedro Sula to Santa Rita. Near the end it gets really curvy too.

We arrived and I fell in love with the place right away. Zonia lives with her mother and sister in a U shaped house that has a small but literal forest growing in the courtyard. It is a very old house, absolutely gorgeous. Someday I will send you pictures.

The school is very small but already expanding. School starts two weeks from now and there is still one classroom to be built. Zonia talked to the builder today and he said "of course I´ll get it done in time" and I hope he´s right. I am very excited to be teaching, it looks like a wonderful school and very organized as well. Zonia has a lot of good ideas, like teaching social studies in Spanish so the children retain their culture. I really like her style, her expectations, and her attitude.

Well, that is about all for now. More later, and I will be starting a blog as well. The internet is not the fastest thing in the world, so little by little.

Have a wonderful week. God bless you. - anna

Sams Club will never be the same!
Hi Anna, Praise God you made it. I viewed Jeanies e mail to you and knew you were just dying to hear from me :-). I have to get use to not seeing your smile at Sams or standing in a long line just to give you a hard time. I am glad you are in Honduras though. What an incredible place! I really enjoyed the couple weeks I was there 2 years ago. I know God is going use you to reach the boys and girls of Honduras. Stay strong, and close to your Savior. We are praying for you.
