Goodday

Firstly, Mr McGregor dropped a bomb on us. Although, this is not an uncommon occurance in Bosnia it nevertheless caused some consternation. It transpired that he was leaving in order to be present at the birth of his child. Accordingly he got on the first plane to Kuala Lumpur, which happened to be from Zagreb, three days later.

Sarajevo turned out to be rather a highlight. We were housed in a metal shack in a slum next to the beautiful Muslim quarter of the city. Our arrival was somewhat hairy, and thatś not just the drivers eyebrows. Our ´free pick-up service´involved a drag race between a dilapidated Mercedes and a smoke belching Golf. This culminated in an abrupt ´bay park´ in a hedge in the darkness. Our hostel turned out to be very pleasant and secluded, the only issue being Flopsyś difficulties keeping the knob up in the shower. However, the was eventually rectified via a complicated procedure involving a bottle cap.

A major event was our tour of the Tunnel Museum, the tunnel used to re-supply the city when undersiege between 1992 and 1995. Along with this was the Olympic bob sleigh track of 1985 and a sniper position overlooking the whole city. A true taste of the spirit of Eastern Europe was had when we were forced to stop on the side of a cliff while a landmine was ´dealt with´.

Peter Rabbit enjoyed a friendly chat with the security guard at the Office of the High Representative, a former haunt of his father. He returned intact, despite recieving some suspiciouis glances from security officer and cameras.

Ta ta for now,

And your room looks very nice now, Tom (even Sophie says so) - she's off to Paris on Thursday to play her cello and Grandad Tiggywinkle and I off to Devon until Sunday too.......Looking forward to seeing a tanned slimline Mrs Tiggywinklexxxxxx
