This blog is a random assortment of pics from this summer. Though it was technically the rainy season, we managed to enjoy ourselves and travel around the city a bit. We even got to the beach on the Western coast of Korea, though sunshine - and thus, decent tans - eluded us. We headed down for the famous Boryeong Mud Festival, which is a celebration of the therapeutic mud found in that region of the country. People basically cover themselves in mud and drink a lot. Showing our age, we decided to just drink a lot.

We also went to a going away party for our friend Jenn, who moved to Mongolia after several years of living in Korea. In her honor, we crashed Canada Day Fest '08 for some "normal" food and music. We spent one rainy day visiting the aquarium and many stormy nights eating Korean BBQ and enjoying the company of good friends. We also took a field trip with our students, which was actually more work than anyone had anticipated.

Recently Moka and I checked out the newest pedicure trend in Seoul. We submerged our feet in a giant tub of water filled with little fish who eat the dead skin. It was definitely a freaky experience I won't be repeating any time soon. Moka also joined us for my birthday at the Timber House in the Park Hyatt Hotel. We made friends with the jazz pianist, who despite his odd behavior and blatant drug problem, took our requests all night and even allowed us to dance on the stage and get on the mic. Todd truly made it a very memorable evening for me.

Last but not least, we filmed a video of Todd training to be a sumo wrestler. This bizarre venture will be explained in a future blog......
