Hot Days in DC

Hot, hot week in DC and I mean high temps by that! High, humid temps, actually. Luckily, I was in meetings most of the day and only able to venture out in the evenings for the most part. However, I was unlucky in that being in DC for its first heat wave of the year with near 100 degree temps for a week. DC is typically hot and humid in the summers but not usually this early.

My first day in, my flight arrived just an hour late so was able to scamper over to the National Gallery of Art before some work colleagues arrived. Wanted to see their Afghanistan exhibit which I had read about in National Geographic. It was amazing! Plus, nice and cool in the Gallery 😊 So hot outside.

The rest of my trip was spent with work related activities except at night when we'd venture out for late dinners. It had typically cooled quite a bit by then but it was still blazing hot with high humidity. Managed to get some nice pictures in the evening with the sun setting when we'd venture out for dinner.

DC is so easy to photograph.

It's amazing how each different light canvas can convey such a wide variety of visual emotions... Very nice photos!
