Melanie and Brad have come to cruise with me!!

Mel is my youngest sister and Brad is her boyfriend. To celebrate the end of their school year and their anniversary, they've taken a trip which includes 8 day at sea with me! They arrived on the ship two days ago and I've been having such an incredible time with them here. Until now, we've been on the ship and enjoying everything there. But now the real adventures have begun because we're reaching ports of call.

Tonight we're in San Juan. I have raved about this city again and again in this blog. So I was excited to show it off.

I finished work for the afternoon, then took Mel & Brad out onto crew deck. The crew deck is at the very very front of the ship and has the best views from there. From the deck we watched us sail into Old San Juan. So pretty.

We then stayed on the ship awhile longer, because we weren't going to pass up a dinner in the dining room! So we played some video games, had our wonderful dinner, then headed out into the city. The sun had set by this time (we only arrived in San Juan at 5pm), but the city was all lit up and pretty.

We strolled down along the waterfront, followed the old walls, entered the Old San Juan gate and wandered through the streets of the old city. It was lovely. Until the downpour of rain started. So then our wanderings turned into darting from storefront to storefront. There was an artist's festival in one of the parks with tents from all different Spanish-speaking countries selling cultural crafts. So we darted for awhile from tent to tent. And eventually made a mad dash back to the ship.

Mel and Brad ended up going to bed early, but Jody and I joined a bunch of crew back out on crew deck to watch us sail away from the city. My last time in San Juan. I love this city. But I guess it just means it's time to explore more places.

In different parks around the city, you see concrete tables and chairs where mostly old men sit playing dominos. I especially like this one set where the chairs are made to look like dominoes.

Sounds amazing. I LOVE cultural crafts. Think I could start a business where I import all the amazing stuff from other countries and sell it here? lol. I actually met a woman in Guatemala who was thinking of doing that in her hometown (somewhere in the States). Enjoy your time with your sis!

Familiar Faces
Hey there Netter, sounds like things are going very well onboard. Its so great to have some many from your family come and visit you. So they can get a chance to experience some of ship life. Cant wait to share a bottle of vino when you return.
