Climbing Waterfalls . . .

I had a lovely day in Jamaica today. Jody and I went on a tour to Dunns River Falls. I'd been there before, about 5 years ago. when I went on a cruise as a passenger. It was my favourite thing we did that week. So I've been wanting to go back. And Jody hadn't been. So thanks to the fabulous people in shore ex, we got tour passes.

The falls are only about a 5-10 minute drive from the pier, but we went by catamaran. It was so nice to just lie out in the (super hot!) sunshine and sail along. Calm, relaxing . . . it soothed my soul. Looking across the water to the lush-covered island, you're reminded of how lucky you are to be there. I'm grateful.

Dunns River Falls is 600+ feet of river, all going down in a long series of waterfalls and pools, cutting through the rainforest and ending at the sea. A walkway is built alongside, but the way to go is by climbing straight up the falls.

We climbed, took photos, marvelled at how beautiful it was and played. One spot has a sort of natural small "waterslide". The water is fast, the rock is smooth and the pool below is deep. It's only a couple of feet, but it's a fun ride. As soon as I sat, the water just pushed me down. Farther up is a spot where the pool is deep, without rocks. The guides put you in place, then you just fall straight back into the water. A bit scary. Very cool. Very fun.

We met a lovely and fun couple from Atlanta who are guests on the ship. They sat near us on the catamaran, then we got talking on the way up the falls, then on the return ride on the catamaran. They're so fun. And tonight we're supposed to meet up with them in the disco.

It was a great tour, gorgeous day, beautiful site. Nice to share with Jody. A really fun day. The sort that are exactly why I'm down here.

Good job
Hey Netter, It looks like things are going well on the Liberty. Good job getting yourself out of a little funk and going out and kicking back and enjoying the last of your contract. I cant wait to see you again. Share stories and eat Ho-Lee Chow. Hugs.
