Dear Readers - what an interesting past 24 hours weather wise. We have had extreme thunder and lightening storms along with torrental downpours, high winds, and high surf conditions. Will add pictures to show the weather.

Am worrying about friends at home that we have not heard from - you know who you are and we know where you are at.

Our time on Samui is winding down and hopefully the weather tomorrow will be calmer as we have to take the boat to the mainland to catch a night train back to Bangkok.

We have to go to Naton today to pick up a batik so hopefully the weather will improve long enough to get there and back without getting totally drenched in the back of a songkaew.

We have been happy with the service and facility here at the Golden Sand Beach Resort (www.goldensand-resort.com). Mr. Ahmuay and his staff have been more than gracious and have been very helpful. The food here is very good. The swimming pool is clean and the grounds are keep very clean as well. We would recommend this resort to anyone coming to Samaui for fun and relaxation.

All for now

Surf's up
Hi Kim - good to hear from you. Hope all is well at home. We saw that it had snowed at the cabin in the last week. Glad we were not there. We were sick of the white stuff. Heading to Viet Nam soon so will be in touch via the blog. Ann and the Archbishop
