Feeling some Mayan magic
Its been a long time since you last heard from us. After our wild stay in San Cristobal we headed into the jungle in Pelanque. We actaully stayed in El Panchant an little backpackers haven right next to the Mayan ruins. Our first night there was spent drinking with our Norwegian friends from Zipolite, who had completely forgiven us for kicking them out of our car due to weight restricitons. There was a little open mic action in the jungle as well and you can bet Sam Brown took more than his fair share of turns busting out covers and originals alike into the jungle night (pictures to follow in the coming days) We watched fire dancers and otehr crazy jungle things. In the morning we headed out for the ruins. No sooner had we started down the path did a strange shirtless man approach us offering "ongo" the mexican word for the local fungi. I will leave it up tto eh reader to decide what our response was. Needless to say 5 hours later we headed back from the Mayan site satisfied with our decision. The next day we swam in the waterfalls of Agua Azul and split up with

Roycraft who is planning on going into El SAlvador to surf or something.... Both parties seemed satisfied with the breakup. Me and Barton headed for the Belize border. After a few problems with the customs agents (don't ever even hint thaty you might sell your car) we were on our way in Belize City. Crazy, pirate town where they speak Creole, or broklen englishm ir basically english meets a Bob MArley song. A nice local lead us to a gambling hall where real Belizeans bet on everything from dominos to three card poker. The next morning we headed out on a water taxi to Caye Caulker. Small, rustic, beuatiful filled with white sand beaches a flanked by the second largest barrier reef in the world the Caye has been a great time. We have met two nice girls from the Netherlands and a nice holland man as well. Yesterday we took a rasta looking boat out to the reef, the engine read "jah works." We saw all sorts of fish and coral and swam with these huge stingrays... wild stuff. Oh yeah, great karaoke bar as well on this little island. We wanted to join our netherlands friends on a

threee day sailing tour but we can only keep our car in the country for two more days. Tommorow we get up early, hop the boat, and drive like hell to the Gautemalian border. To recap, mushrooms, no more Roycraft, open mic, rasta snorkeling, gambling on dominos...
catch you down the road.....
