This is my final blog from Ashale Botwe** and I really have mixed feelings.

I am very happy that I decided to come here and ,living with families has enabled me to really experience Ghana life properly.I have been rather disappointed with the soccer coaching programme but I will be in a better position to judge whether this was due to my expectations after I have completed my second volunteer programme.

I did not think that I was particularly materialistic and I have not missed my 'things' although I am looking forward to driving my car again.I have struggled with the food but ,even on holiday, I do not eat when it is hot so no real surprise to me.As you will know from my previous blogs,I am missing my daily bath and I will need to find a spa that does 'post Africa TLC' programmes when I get home.
The hardest thing for me I think has been the amount of free time to fill.I have missed my friends more than I ever imagined I would.I think in this age of technology it is so easy to e mail, text and call people at home that we all take
Beach bum!!Beach bum!!Beach bum!!

Manicured nails at the beach -must be the heat !!
it for granted.
I have been amazed at the response to the blogs I have posted, thanks for all the positive comments and messages.I only hope I have able to give you all a taste of my time out here. It's a real shame it is not a 'scratch and sniff' site though!!

** It is now Tuesday 26th and I am now with Steph at Hans Botel in Cape Coast. We spent 2 nights at a hotel in Ashale and then moved onto Green Turtle Lodge for 3 nights which was amazing. No TV or mobile reception but a really chilled atmosphere, great beach and cheap cocktails!!We visited the local village twice and received an amazing reception. The lodge is heavily involved in the several local community projects including building some public loos. They have also started educating the locals about turtle conservation and I am sure the Explore volunteer group will be able to help with this.

I have not been able to access the internet since last Weds so I will write another proper blog next week once Steph has left.

Hope you are all well, happy and healthy !!

Coral x

well done
Well done you - pampering session is well and truly needed and thank goodness blogs aren't scratch and sniff. Have a relaxing break before your next volunteer sess. You deserve it. Take care Tanya

Holiday
I have to say, the beach looks lovely there, and you certainly look relaxed, probably the chocolate helped too! You'll have to have a pamper day at Center Parcs Aqua Sana when you get back, that'll make you feel much better! Enjoy the rest of your little break, and say Hi to Steph for me. Take care and good luck with your second mission. Luv Cherylx

You're on your own....
It's been fasinating reading your commentary and the photos are great. I couldn't have done this even when I was 20years younger. I understand the heat having come from Tropical Nth Queensland in Australia, but now living on the Gold Coast I couldn't imagine the heat, the flies and NO mod cons. The experience does sound amazing and I am lucky I experienced thru you. Look forward to more of your wonderous stories. Love Dannielle and Clan
