Right before heading to the airport.
Hello all and welcome back to Mikes travel blog. I know that it has been so long since you've all heard from me, so rejoice and hear of my travels in SE asia!

After arriving at LAX for my flight to Hong Kong I was rewarded with a canceled flight and a 75 hong kong dollar (about 10 dollars) food voucher which i used on a fine meal that consisted of noodles and some kind of fish ball, not to bad but then again not to good! After hanging out in the airport for like 6 hours i finally got on my flight to bangkok and slept for a few hours on the plane. I must admit even though Cathay was delayed two hours from Lax and canceled my next flight it has been a really good airline, good food (for an airline) and my own little tv screen to watch repeats of crappy american sitcoms and also try to figure out what is happening on the Cantonese soap operas. Got into bangkok and went to the famous Khao San Road to join the other backpackers. Not a bad place to go out and drink even though a little expensive

Thats a long flight!
(3 dollars big beer) Met an English guy on the bus over and got a pretty cheap room for a night. Had a few beers to appease the jet lag and then passed out at like midnight. The next day went to the Grand Palace and was very impressed, lots of time put in and very intricate. Also checked out the Reclining Budda which was an impressive sight. Then got kinda tired and went back to Khao San. THat night was Chinese new year so went into china town and had a really good seafood dinner for pretty cheap. also went out to Sukhumvit and saw all the sex tourists and a lot of lady boys, which was quite funny but also a little odd. Felt a little dirty after that. Went back to Khao san and ate some bugs after drinking to much. they actually tasted pretty good, but i can't see myself eating them sober. walked around yesterday and bought a few things for the beach before hopping on a night bus south to Ko Pha Ngan where i will be staying a few days before heading west towads Krabbi. Thats all i got to report from this
