We went for a long walk to the city to the North of Isla Negra, El Quisco.
it was a hopping place seeing as how it is New's Years Eve and that is a BIG holiday in Chile. They say that Christmas is for children and New Year's is for the adults in Chile. I think I could watch the Pacific rollers coming in for hours. We stopped at the fish market and noticed that they were selling bags of lemons and they are selling my favorite Chilean fish-- Congrio
A little further they were selling clams by the kilo. A little further they were guys opening the clams so you could eat them raw with a little (lot) of lemon juice. So of course I had to try it!!!!! So I go to the guy selling the clams and ask for 5 with my fingers and he starts loading 5 kilos on the scale. There is this nice Chilean fellow who has taken me under his wing for this adventure, he corrects the mistake and I end up with 9, 18 halves, I convince Kathy to try them,
she eats three and I eat 15. Nice
Chilean man says that the Diet coke is not the right drink and he pats my stomach and says-- "vino blanco." On the way back to our room my stomach is not feeling the greatest. Get bottle of vino blanco, drink 1/2 of it, so far I feel a lot better.
On the way back we check on buses to Santiago and then to Pucon. We need an early bus, it is 120 km to Santiago and then over 700 km to Pucon. The earliest bus leaves for Santiago and 10:00 that is too late, so we will have to miss the fireworks in El Quisco tonight and ride the bus instead. So Pucon tomorrow!!!!!
