Worlds Apart

Worlds apart.
Here I am.
There you are.
Can never be.

"I cry every night because you will leave"
"Don't open this package until I'm gone"

"Mom, my heart and my mind are completely at odds"
"Nate, I trust you"

"Your heart and your mind are completely at odds"
"What do I do?"
"Open your heart Shakra"

"I knew you were coming back today, I knew you were coming around the corner just then"

"Nate, she could learn English in two years"
"Do you understand the significance of what you just said?"
"Yes"

"Mom, I'm going to marry her"
"Nate, I trust you."

"Can she marry me?"
"In this matter if we say yes, its yes. If we say no, its no."
"This is a love marriage, not an arranged marriage"
"I'm a love failure. She won’t be hurt like me"
"Then it can never be"

Do you, the reader get what this is about? Many of you have heard the story, but if you haven't (you would know if you have), do you get the gist of it?

This other one is a villanelle. It has to be structured in the way that i did, with two lines repeated as I do.

Don’t talk about life, just go out and live it,
The world brims with spectacle, beautiful souls galore,
Don’t talk about help, just go out and give it.

“You must live like this.” “Do this, don’t do that.”
“Get a job, get a car, get a house, get a wife.”
Don’t talk about life, just go out and live it.

Coffee shop revolutionaries decay by the day,
Ideas once solid float through fingers like smoke,
Don’t talk about help, just go out and give it.

Little moments; holding a child, being in love,
Longtime friends, smiles at Thanksgiving,
Don’t talk about life, just go out and live it.

The old woman, legs wobbling, crossing the street,
The crying child all alone, wide-eyed for guidance,
Don’t talk about help, just go out and give it.

I’m on my high horse telling you just how live,
Talking tall, actionless, but still I insist,
Don’t talk about life, just go out and live it,
Don’t talk about help, just go out and give it.

i really like the first one; the lines are really well chosen to tell the story, but incompletely. it's really hard to say what someone would say if they didn't already know the story... maybe ill introduce it to one
