Darwin to Broome

We flew up to Darwin in the Northern territory and bought a van and started our drive down the west coast of Australia.
It took a week to buy a van and decide which one (slim pickings) but we managed to aquire a good little motor with a house worth of gear in it including body board and a surf board!!


The Northern Territory is hotter than i ever imagined and beside the intense humidity the amount of flies trying to get in every facial orifice is an unwelcome distraction,

But enough griping about that! Darwin is nothing to write home about so we hit the road and spent five days driving free camping and campsiting to Broome on the tip of the West coast.

Broome was an oasis after the desert and we've never seen a more colourful azure ocean, and compared to the icy waters of Sydney the water is warm and i tried my new toy out (surfing is V-hard)

Hi Em n Paul, Just read ur l8'st journal n fought Id say hi wilst on here. Pics r gr8 n gud way o checkin out wat uve bn up2. It luks hot n Em uve got rite tan - jammy bugga HA!!! Its cold here, but wud luv snow 4 Freyas 1st xmas. The sea luks so blue, lik a swimmin pool, I cud just tak a swim in dat. Hope da surfins goin bit beta, if its as hard as snowboardin - mayb ull get it in 50 billion lessons HA!!! Tak care n enjoy da van!!! Lots o luv 'The Knowlands' xxxx
