We went out to Festival City today and had a bit of a shop at Ikea. Not the most interesting thing I know but the interesting thing is that I finally managed to get a photo of myself with Modhesh. I tried to get a photo of Jeremy with Modhesh, but he flatly refused. So it was left to be a photo of me with Modhesh. We had to try twice as the first time I was snaked by a three year and his mother!

Festival City mall is pretty amazing. Most of the shops aren't open yet but when they are this will be one of the places to shop. The have a lovely array of water features and fountains and on saturday they actually had a concert pionist playing outside Costa Coffee.

Other random events over the weekend include the High Tea at the Burl Al Arab ( a subject of its very own blog), a dinner time visit to Vus Restaurant at Emirates Towers and a fly by visit to the Souk Madinet.

We had dinner of the 5oth floor of the Emirates Towers with Wendy and David and the food was just superb and the view was to die for. We had a small hitch in that it was the Lailat Al Miraj this weekend and therefore none of the bars or restaurants were serving alcohol or having any live entertainment. So my first plan of heading to Vus Bar on the 51st floor (instead of the restaurant) was foiled, as it was shut.

However the restaurant was just as lovely, if somewhat more expensive.

Thank you for the kind comment. It was pretty tough trying to recover everything after the crash. It took about a week to get it all back. It feels good to have everything there again though. Keep checking for the updates :)
