Hi gang,
Well as you can see from the pics we had a ball at the Full Moon party which is a big beach party which attracts over 20 thousand people from all over the world to Thailand. The beach has about 20 different bars up an down it and they each play their own different music. They have big stages and podiums for you to dance on, fire dancers and all kinds. They sell buckets of ale which set you back 300 bhat which is about 4 quid, in that you got a quart bottle of smirnoff a can of sprite and a bottle of redbull which is ten times stronger than back home. Mine was really cheap because i was drinking the local whiskey which is gorg, so mine set me back about 2 quid, so we were a bit sozzled to say the least.
When we arrived on Ko Phang Ngan (were the beach party is) we made the mistake of not booking our digs in advance so therefore had to stay in this crummy little room with a fan. The heat was unreal so we did not get much sleep. We only had to
stay here 2 nights untill the party was over, which is when everyone leaves so we just had to put up with it. After the 2 days we stayed in a bungalow which felt like 5 star luxury after the previous room haha!!
We left Ko Phang Nagn a day after the party to head back to Phi Phi for our divers course. It was a long, long journey which consisted of 5 hours on a boat then 3 hours on a coach then half an hour in a cab then another 2 hours on a boat. They dont really care about safety in Thailand so our last boat we had to catch was over capacity to put it mildley. Some poor people couldnt even sit down because there were just bodies everywere so you can imagne the heat, we were so glad when we reached Phi Phi.
I was really nervous about the diving but Neil had done a bit before so he was ok. We met our instructer Gerry who was lovely and he sat us in front of a video which we had to watch an then answer questions on. Then after we finished this
we had our confined dive which just means in shallow water so we could leanr the skills you need to know for diving.
The confined dive was at the beach in a really shallow part so i wasnt worried about that. We started the skills which consisted of, learning how to use the eauipment and taking it off underwater and putting it back on and the signs that divers use. We also had to learn to eaualise properly which means just popping your ears every few feet ( this was the bit i was worried about because of my dodgy ears) but i was fine and neednt have worried. Neil was doing fine with the confined dive but i was finding it hard to get the hang of things plus i had a stomach bug that i had caught of neil (not a good thing to have when your in a wet suit with a big metal tank on your back). So i was really debating on weather i wanted to continue but Neil and Gerry peurseded me.
The first dive we did was fantastic and we both really enjoyed it and my stomach hadnt played up so
bonus. We seen loads of different kinds of fish and coral which were just out of this worl. We seen loads of clown fish (nemos) and we seen a massive shy crab which are rare to see we were told. The second, third and fouth dives were even better and we got to see 3 different coulours of star fish including a bright blue one it was fab. We even seen a giant moray eel. We both loved it and passd with flying colours so we are now qualified divers. We have been told there is gorgeous diving in Bali so were already planning our next dive. Dont know what were gunna do when we get back home dont fancy going for a dive in the Mersey eeee!!
Weve had to rush this blog so excuse the spelling mistakes as the woman is rushing us. We are now in Malaysia so will update this again in a few days. Missing you all loadsxxxxxxx
