Amsterdam Bike Ride
Today we were off to see Amsterdam. The day started off bad when I got a parking ticket for 45 euro. Oh well, we headed down to rent some bikes, which is the only way to see Amsterdam. If we thought driving in Europe was an adventure, it was even more so riding a bike. It was great to ride along the cannels towards our destination. We had finally arrived: The Red Light District. Those that have been there know that this place gives a new meaning to window-shopping! I’ll save all the good stories for when I get home. After that, we wondered the streets, looking at the cafes; you almost got a contact high by all the pot smoke. We visited the main museum of Amsterdam: the Sex Museum. This place was crazy. If Las Vegas is called Sin City then this place is the Devil’s Den!
We left the city that night, and headed into Belgium. Tomorrow we will see Brussels and head to Paris.

Too Funny!
Oh my gosh Matt! Raquel would get such a kick out of the place called Chickita's! Look forward to the stories when you get back!

Local brews
Hey Matt, You've got to try the Belgian beers. You will see the superior quality over the German stuff. Try them in a local "Brown Cafe" in any Amsterdam neighborhood. Walk through the "Jordaan" neighborhood and enjoy any of the bars or "eetcafe's" through the cobbled streets. They are all good and reasonably priced. For a qiuck snack go to the "FEBO" and order a "patatje oorlog""Fries War Style". It is basically french fries with mayonaisse and spicy indonesian peanut sauce and onions...Awesome Or, a croquette out of one of the doors in the wall that you put money into. They are fresh and very good. Also, while we are on the subject of food try the Shoarma at one of the many cafe's that look like they are run by middle-eastern looking people. It is a pita with freshly cut meat off of the rotisserie with garlic sauce. Cheap and good. Anything goes in Amsterdam; so be adventurous. Vinnie
